Resolume Integration

Trigger Resolume from CueForge via OSC — early-access workflow and verification guidance.

Early Access

CueForge is designed to send OSC triggers to Resolume Arena and Avenue. In the 0.99.1 beta this workflow is early access: it is designed to send, but it has not yet been validated against a real Resolume composition. Verify behaviour with your specific Resolume version and composition before production use.

Verify before showtime

Resolume OSC behaviour varies between versions and composition structures. Verify clip and layer addressing against your specific Resolume build and composition before relying on this in a live show.

Intended design

  • CueForge sends OSC messages to Resolume — for example from an OSC Cue, or from the cue editor’s Triggers section
  • Configurable host, port, address pattern, and arguments
  • Typical intent: trigger clips, layers, or composition changes in step with sound and lighting cues

These are designed capabilities of the OSC send path, not validated Resolume-specific features. Confirm the exact address patterns your Resolume build responds to.

Direction

CueForge sends OSC to Resolume only. No parameter feedback from Resolume.

Requirements

  • Resolume Arena or Avenue with OSC input enabled
  • Network connection between CueForge and Resolume machines
  • Resolume OSC input configured on the correct port

Verification checklist

  1. In Resolume preferences, enable OSC input and note the port.
  2. Create a dedicated test composition with a non-production clip.
  3. In CueForge, create a dedicated OSC Cue aimed at Resolume — set Host, Port, and Address.
  4. Use the cue’s Test Send button to fire the message and verify Resolume responds.
  5. Only then connect to the production composition.
Exact menu paths

Exact Resolume menu paths should be verified against the target software version; they vary between releases.

Show safety notes

  • Test on a non-production composition first.
  • Verify clip and layer indices before showtime.
  • Label every CueForge cue with its Resolume target (clip, layer, composition).
  • Keep a backup of the Resolume composition before every show.

Current limitations

  • Send-only; no parameter feedback from Resolume.
  • Not validated against a real Resolume composition in this beta.
  • Clip and layer addressing depends on composition structure.
