What is in the Beta, What is Not
A transparent account of what is verified, what is implemented but still being validated, and what is not in the CueForge 0.99.1 beta.
This page reflects CueForge 0.99.1 beta. It is the honesty contract for the manual: what has passed real acceptance in the application, what is implemented but still awaiting physical validation, and what is not in this beta at all.
Available and verified
These workflows have passed acceptance in the real application:
| Area | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Cue authoring — all 12 cue types | Available | Via the Add menu; computed cue numbers; groups (Sequential and Scene) |
| Audio cues | Available | Playback, fades, loops, buses, multichannel mapping editor, Start Offset |
| Audio Deep Editor | Available | Waveform, markers, beat grid, phrase authoring baseline, audition transport |
| Video cues | Available | Play to natural completion, pause/resume holding position, seek, replay, output windows reattach at live position |
| Image cues | Available | Layered composition, display duration, backgrounds, geometry |
| Show Mode | Available | Workspaces, GO/STOP/PAUSE/RESUME/PANIC, Show Lock, Blackout, Test Pattern, Take Next |
| Preflight | Available | Blocking errors vs acknowledged warnings; Jump to cue |
| Saving, undo, autosave | Available | One action = one undo step; autosave every 30 s with Restore/Ignore recovery |
| Missing media recovery | Available | Relink (folder scan repairing multiple references); Replace via the cue editor |
| External control — OSC / MIDI / HTTP | Available | Verified with real software senders; exactly-once execution; Control Mapping and Trigger Inbox |
| Outputs and commissioning | Available | Logical outputs, output windows, generated commissioning patterns |
Implemented, validation in progress
These are implemented and covered by automated tests, but physical or operator acceptance is not yet complete:
| Area | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Audio device routing and bindings | Early Access | MacBook speaker playback and the named Studio 1824c LTC setup checked; full multichannel output/hardware acceptance remains setup-specific |
| APC Mini MKII control profile | Early Access | Nine faders, pads, LED feedback, reconnect resync — physical session pending |
| Allen & Heath SQ control profile | Early Access | GO/Stop/Panic/Pause/Resume/Next/Previous — physical session pending |
| SoundSwitch Control One profile | Early Access | Play/Pause, Back, Shift, BPM Tap, encoders — physical session pending |
Cmd+Q quit in Edit Mode | Early Access | Works in Show Mode; Edit Mode physical acceptance being finalised. If quit does not respond in Edit Mode, use CueForge → Quit CueForge |
| Display hotplug | Early Access | Availability handling implemented; live hotplug validation in progress |
| Non-QWERTY keyboard layouts | Early Access | Shortcuts follow the active layout by character; the AZERTY physical keymap pass is in progress |
Beta limitations
These work differently than you might expect, or not at all, in this beta:
- External LTC/MTC input and timecode cue firing are implemented. Physical LTC acceptance covers MA3 into Studio 1824c Input 8 at 25 fps; other devices/rates and Windows still need setup-specific acceptance. This is not a general media-chase guarantee.
- Timed video Dissolve Take is not implemented at runtime. Dissolve is authored but fails deterministically — use Cut. Preflight warns when a dissolve is selected.
- Phrases do not fire outputs. They are show-design regions describing song structure; advanced phrase features are deferred.
- Dedicated Preview output is not yet available. The Preview route aliases Master; a true preview path is pending.
- Actor Support is optional and production-dependent. Playback wiring refinement is deferred — rehearse with it before relying on it in a show.
Private-beta distribution and licensing
The Apple Silicon Mac package passed packaged-app smoke and audio/seek checks. It is ad-hoc signed and not notarized. A Windows x64 installer was built, but is unsigned and has not passed native Windows installation/hardware acceptance.
Personal signed private-beta licenses and machine activation requests/responses work in the release build. Current invitations expire on 31 December 2026. Capabilities require a valid license; release builds do not accept Development entitlements. See Licensing.
Early access

Not available
- grandMA2 — documentation draft only; there is no runtime support in this beta.
Acceptance statuses are re-assessed continuously during the beta programme. If behaviour in your build contradicts this page, report it via Help → Export Diagnostics… and the Troubleshooting page.
